Biography of Thomas Hobbes

Thomas Hobbes of Malmesbury (born in Malmesbury, Wiltshire, England, 5 April 1588 - died in Derbyshire, England, December 4, 1679 at the age of 91 years) was an English philosopher homage to empiricism. His views were known is the concept of man from the standpoint of materialism, empiricism, and the view of man's relationship with the state system. 

Hobbes had an influence on the whole field of the study of moral and political philosophy in the UK, particularly through his very famous "Leviathan". Hobbes is not only famous in the UK but also in continental Europe. Also known as a philosopher, Hobbes also known as a mathematician and classics scholar. He was a math teacher Charles II and published translations of the Iliad and Homer's Odyssey.
